What a weekend that was. I had a great weekend getting to support Allan Carr on some of his West Highland Way Challenge Race.
I don't often spend time on that side of racing, but I absolutely love it when I do. It was some of the worst running conditions I've ever been in. And yet ever single runner we seen was trudging on. Mile after mile.
Getting to the start line of a race like this is something most people in life won't do, and I think as runners we underplay that a lot.
It's a huge achievement. The glory is in who you become in getting to the start line, the finish line is just a mere token of everything you've done. The best part is the struggle of getting yourself to lace up at the start. Showing up day after day, working hard when you don't feel like it, and getting out and training in rotten conditions replicating race day.
We are now almost half way through the year. Some of you will be reading this and won't have even get near what you said to yourself on January 1st.
And that's ok. But tomorrow is another day, and you can start to build habits tomorrow, day after day, and get yourself to the start line sooner than you think.
Looking forward to seeing some of you tomorrow:

If you'd like to be at your next start line feeling a bit more prepped you can click here.
If you think this session would be useful to someone you can forward it on to them - this session is based around a 10k/5K plan but can be adapted for other distances.
Hope to see you tomorrow.
