When you have your next big race coming up - you'll probably have the same thoughts as most others.
Have I done enough??
People look back on their training block and look at the one missed run, and when they get to the taper weeks they do something that messes up their race.
One more long run, one more hard session, one more confidence booster to make you feel that wee bit better on the start line.
But that will probably mean you're going to go into race day a little tired. And besides all that - the science says it takes about 10 days for your body to get any fitness from what you've done.
So when you hit that extra session extra hard a week out - you're getting zero benefit from it.
Stick to the plan, trust your taper and you'll feel better at the start line.
Give yourself the best chance of hitting your potential. You're better to go in over rested than over trained.
See you all tomorrow
