Is there a better 10K session than this?
I don't think so.
It gives you everything. Starts off with 10 minutes of effort at 10K pace (or slightly faster)
Then leaves you finished the way you feel at the end of a 10K - if you've raced the 10K in the right way of course.
Sop what is the right way? For longer races - marathons and ultras - I think the first half should feel boring. Like you're not putting in loads of effort. Balance it right and you can be on for a strong second half and pick off the field. Start too quick and people will be going past you like you're doing a different sport.
I don't feel the same with 10Ks - they are short enough you can red line almost the entire way.
If you're at Dumbarton this Thursday I'll see you there - and hopefully see you at Helensburgh too for the best one in the series. Here is this weeks session:

10 Mins at 10K effort, the 1 min efforts at max effort. walk recovery - you'll thank me I'm sure.
Welcome to The Classic.
