It's easy to copy someone else's training plan. With the world of strava and final surge (which I use for coaching) it's easy to find someone who is coached and follow their plan. You can do it a day behind, a week behind, a month behind.

Whatever.

It's the same if you're starting a new business. You can copy the exact same thing another business is doing. You can find a business, copy their exact business plan and hope for the same results.

Will these results happen? Probably not.

Everything that you do - training, business whatever - it has to have a bit of you in it.

When I started Run Rhaw I didn't want just another running club. I wanted a place where everyone could train together, whatever your level, whatever the clouds.

Hence running in loops - it doesn't matter if you're going to run full pelt and I'm going to walk round. Timed efforts, starting together and finishing together, every single week.

It's the same that comes to training. You could easily go on strava, pick someone I coach and follow their sessions a week later. It's easy to spot the ones that do that. Or use something like Runna...thoughts on that another time....

But it doesn't give you what you need. You might gain a bit from doing sessions out your normal, but it will do you no good to follow my training and hope for the best.

You don't know when I'm feeling good, feeling bad, or something else is happening. If you were training for the WHW and tried to follow my training plan you'd have followed the most sporadic plan anyone has ever seen.

Anyway I guess my point is - whatever you are doing, you need to sprinkle a bit of you on it. You wouldn't start a clothing brand called Noke and have a tag line of 'you should do it'.

But that's what people try and do...and what seems like the easy route always turns out harder,

If you're not coached - make sure you follow something that has something you enjoy, something that pushes you, and something you don't want to do to work on your weaknesses. If you're working on someone else's weaknesses the cracks will show soon enough.

Anyway - here's this weeks Run Rhaw session that has a focus on the 10K distance.

The longer effort at 10K pace, the shorter ones slightly quicker to get the most out of the session.

Looking forward to seeing you at the Run Rhaw park tomorrow.

And if not - maybe you'll catch one of my sessions somewhere else soon :)

PS - you can reply to this email if you're interested in getting to your next finish line quicker or click here. And you can be rest assured it won't be a copy of anyone's training :)

And if you didn't see it already, you can check out my latest trip to New York here

See you tomorrow, whatever the visible mass of condensed water floating in the atmosphere :)
